Tucson, Arizona – Tucson Veterans Serving Veterans (TVSV) is hosting Tucson’s annual Stand Down, March 13-15, 2019 at the Grand Luxe Hotel, 1365 W Grant Road. Over 80 local service providers, will offer at risk Veterans, clothing, showers, haircuts, health screenings, medical care, legal assistance, housing options, employment support services, as well as food stamps, VA and Social Security benefits and perhaps most importantly, the Stand Down offers homeless Veterans a break from the harsh conditions of life on the street. Pet services will include pet grooming, vaccinations, licensing, spay and neuter and a pet store.
On active duty, a Stand Down is a necessary mental and physical break from combat. Military personnel spend a few days in a safe place to rest and recuperate before returning to the front lines.
This Stand Down aims to reach as many of those homeless Veterans and Veterans at risk of becoming homeless as possible, connecting them to services that will allow them to get on the path to self-sufficiency.
Volunteers are needed for all events, set-up, take-down, veteran support and navigation. Large groups are welcome. If you would like to volunteer, please let us know!
Due to liability reasons, we will be asking everyone sign a liability waiver on the day of the event.
All Volunteers must register
